HR Generalist

Reporting to the HR Supervisor, our Human Resource Generalist is responsible for ensuring the day-to-day operation of assigned HR functionsThe Generalist will have primary responsibilities and serve as a back-up to other team membersOur Generalist is a critical team member who partners with internal departments, is a point of contact for employees and vendors, and enables HR to successfully support both employee and business needs.RequirementsResponsibilitiesBe available to receive and courteously respond to employee and vendor inquiries across a broad array of HR topics; provide resolution or a resource to address their needsFacilitate new hire on-boarding procedures, documentation, and deliver orientationOversee the annual performance review process by organizing, scheduling, tracking, and processing related documents and pay changesFacilitate employee off-boarding procedures to include separation notification, exit interviews, and related documentationManage safety program to include notice of injury and Workers' CompensationPartner with HR Supervisor on initiatives such as writing/evaluating job descriptions, designing salary rangesManage unemployment claims and related processingMaintain current and former employee paper and electronic employment recordsMaintain policies and handbook; assist with policy interpretationCreate and maintain a variety of key metrics to assist with monthly reporting to include turnover reports, employee counts, salary planning, etc.Accurately and timely complete required compliance reporting such as EEO-1 and various auditsRequirements Bachelor's Degree preferred; 2 to 5 years of generalist experience with an emphasis on performance management, employee relations, progressive discipline, and facilitationExperience administering benefit/retirement programs, payroll, and recruiting a plusWorking knowledge of employment law and legislation for New Hampshire and Massachusetts with the ability to learn other states requiredHR designation (SHRM or HRCI) a plusProficiency with an HRIS System requiredIntermediate MS skills to include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel; ability to navigate web-based programs requiredBenefitsConcord Group employees are eligible for benefits including medical, vision, dental, life, and disability insuranceAdditionally, sick time, personal time, holiday pay, a generous paid vacation time, and a competitive 401(k) plan with a company match are all included.About UsAs a leading regional provider of property and casualty insurance, The Concord Group helps protect the families and small businesses that enable our communities to thriveOur positive work environment, competitive benefits, and rapid growth make The Concord Group a great place to build your career.The Concord Group is an Equal Opportunity EmployerThe Concord Group participates in E-Verify. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
